Flexboard
Sommerfeld Flexboards offer a cost-effective solution for temporary access and ground protection across challenging terrain, backed by years of industry experience. These heavy-duty mats are constructed from durable hardwood with steel banding and can support up to 32 tonnes of traffic. Each mat measures 1.06m x 2m x 50mm,
Their non-slip surface, flexible connecting system, and easy installation make them ideal for various situations. This includes construction sites, civil engineering projects, and outdoor events. They excel at providing secure working platforms, protecting existing surfaces, and creating temporary roadways, parking areas, and flooring for structures.
Plastic Trackway
Euromat™ plastic trackway is Sommerfeld Flexboard’s innovative solution for ground protection and access on soft or uneven terrain. This market-leading heavy access mat, features a unique chevron traction surface. By featuring this surface, they provide superior grip while clearing mud and dirt. Euromat™ plastic trackway is proudly manufactured in the UK and EU using 100% recyclable polyethylene.
At just 36kg per mat (2.4m x 1.2m x 12mm), it’s light enough for two-person installation. Additionally, they are robust enough for heavy-duty applications. The system offers versatile connection options, optional reflective safety features, and is particularly valuable for protecting various areas. This includes heritage and eco-sensitive areas, making it suitable for both industrial access needs and pedestrian walkways.
Heavy Duty Mats
Sommerfeld Flexboard’s hardwood mats provide the ultimate solution for stabilising waterlogged or unstable terrain and creating solid foundations for heavy machinery. These exceptionally durable mats have become the industry standard across oil, gas, water, civil engineering, and construction sectors. They are available in lengths of 3.5m or 5m and thicknesses ranging from 70mm to 150mm. Their superior breaking strength and weather resistance have made them particularly popular in marine applications. In these circumstances, they excel at protecting sensitive areas and underground services while withstanding intense pressure and harsh environmental conditions.
