The inaugural home game for the brand new Sunday team playing in the stunning Dedham Vale certainly was a positive start to the season.

The game started with the Dedham boys being a little caught on their heels with Ramsey & Mistley grabbing their first goal early on in the first half. Dedham soon came back into it and started to play some solid football, and building on their passing game. From here in chances started coming thick and fast with Dan Smith and Aaron Debenham coming close.

Halfway through the first half Dedham equalised with a great move through the centre and Dan Smith using his pace to latch onto a pass back to the keeper, slotting home a well deserved equaliser.

From there in the action took place mainly in midfield with Alfie Smith and Lee Rand putting on a solid display to continue win back the ball and putting through some great passes to the forwards and wingers. It was only a matter of time until the continuous pressure being put on the opposition defence would bare some fruit, and a superb individual run through the centre from the Dedham captain and centre half Paddi Hawkins saw Lee Rand latch onto his pass and slotting home Dedham’s second.

The second half saw a fairly even start to the game with both sides having good chances, with one ferocious shot well saved by the Dedham Keeper Aidan Chaplin. As the game went on both keepers proved their worth between the sticks pulling of some solid saves. Dedham created many chances, but couldn’t find that goal which would put them two clear. Ramsey & Mistley then found some space and a long shot found the back of the Dedham net.

The last 20 minutes was evenly balanced with both teams looking a little jaded from the hard work they put in throughout the game, and the game came to a natural conclusion with both sides sharing the points.
